     LZ Punta Gorda.  The gang at the Charlotte County Airport planned a celebration to remember for the evening of October 2.  Our people on site, organizer Bob Carr and Area Vice President Mike Goff, called this event Vietnam Veterans Appreciation Night.  The festivities included a Vietnam-style USO show, a red-white-and-blue tribute, a Vietnam memorabilia exhibit, and plenty of refreshments.  Veteran USO performers,  The Hilltop Singers, a pair of lovelies who some may remember from thirty years ago, entertained the troops.

     The Huey arrived the following morning.  Bob Carr was invited to take the aircraft around the pattern a few times, and several of our members hopped on for the short ride.  There were lots of excited veterans and other well-wishers on hand to give their support.
